We are seeking a skilled Prepress Operator to join our dynamic printing team. The Prepress Operator will be responsible for preparing digital files for printing, ensuring high-quality output, and maintaining efficient workflow in the prepress department. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare digital files for printing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client specifications.
  • Perform color corrections, image retouching, and file formatting using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Create and verify proofs, ensuring all elements meet quality standards before production.
  • Operate and maintain prepress equipment, including plate-making systems and digital imaging devices.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, clients, and production teams to resolve file issues and ensure print-ready outputs.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to file compatibility, fonts, and image resolution.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical archives of project files and plates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, software updates, and printing technologies.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, printing technology, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in prepress operations or a similar role in the printing industry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and prepress software (e.g., RIP software, imposition tools).
  • Strong understanding of color management, file formats (PDF, EPS, TIFF), and print production processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with digital and flexographic printing processes.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CTP (Computer-to-Plate) systems and digital proofing technologies.
  • Knowledge of variable data printing and workflow automation.
  • Understanding of pressroom operations and how prepress impacts production.
