Prepress Production Artist

Location: Grand Prairie, TX 

Job Description: Responsible for prepress procedures, quality checks, and processing customer files into print production-ready files, proofs, and plates, to be printed Digital or Flexo.

Responsibilities:

• Works closely with customer service & sales staff, manufacturing & scheduling, to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Coordinate the daily prepress schedule with customer service and production scheduling to consistently meet customer dates.
• Proficient in current software applications as required to build label print-ready files for Flexographic and digital printing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current software, hardware, and upgrades.
• Preflight incoming files and perform quality inspection of art.
• Prepare proofs for customer review.
• All trapping, step & repeat, final separated plate ready file creation.
• Prepares files for digital front end for HP, and plates to be made.
• Organize, monitor, archive, and maintain files on the server and backup safekeeping.
• Interfaces with staff regarding art and design elements, print reproduction, color, and technical aspects of a job.

Requirements – Possess core skills consisting of:

• Highly proficient on MAC operating system, Illustrator
• Knowledge of flexographic printing and/or digital printing process
• Ability to coordinate work, deal effectively, and communicate with managers and staff.
• Strong attention to detail, Multi-task oriented
• Represents the company in a professional manner at all times.
• Adheres to all company policies & procedures along with safety & compliance requirements and housekeeping standards.
• Hours – 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Monday-Friday) (O.T. as scheduled)
